Three Little Babies All in a Row

I was so happy to see all those smiling faces at Knitting Group yesterday. They are such sweet ladies. I didn’t get quite as much done as I had hoped because one of the gals needed some help with a knitting project. But that’s half the fun of being in a group like that. You don’t have to just focus on yourself and your projects. You have opportunities to teach, minister, listen, and learn.

I had enough pieces knitted to make three more little babies. I’m close to having the fourth one finished, but I needed more fiberfill from downstairs and I just didn’t go down. I’ll do that today. Then I’ll make more babies and finish another strip for the baby blanket. I think I found enough yarn to finish that one strip that’s still sitting on the machine.

We didn’t do much in the afternoon. I cooked some hamburger and seasoned half of it for tacos. I put the rest in the fridge and will make Cabbage Roll Casserole today. We haven’t had that since the last time we went camping. Ohhhhh, I’m really missing the camper. I can’t wait till it gets warm enough to sleep out there again.

I finally ordered an Amazon Echo 8 for my brother. I’m hoping to get him hooked up with it next week then we can see each other more often. I think I told you about my friend Alice who is the whiz kid with technology for the disabled. She even gave a TED talk about it. Alice has a daughter who received a devastating injury on the ski slope when she was only I’ve. We were all afraid Kara would die, or be a vegetable. However, while she does need some assistance, Alice has worked with her extensively, incorporating technology in her life and she now lives on her own in an apartment. We are all so very proud of her! Here is a beautiful story about Kara and her mother, Alice.

We are happy to stay home again today. We both have things to do in town tomorrow. The sunshine has brought a wonderful change and it will be warming up for a little January thaw in the coming week. I hope you are thawing out a little, too!
