A Perfect Autumn Day

We had the place to ourselves till late afternoon.

Seriously…some days just leave you at a loss for words. Just when I think we’ve had THE best day camping of the year…another one comes along that knocks it out of the park. That was what we experienced yesterday. While the high temperature was only 68°, it was sunny for a large portion of the day. We sat in the screen room most of the day, admiring the trees…and chasing out the errant stink bug that still got in. The room doesn’t have a bottom. Parts of it sit right on the ground, even though I do put the camp mat out. And besides, we’re in the woods. There’s going to be critters!

My nemesis…the Brown Murmurated Stink Bug!

I knitted a good deal. I started the last sleeve. Our dear friend Gail came to visit for a little bit. We roasted hotdogs for lunch by the heat coming from the propane heater. It worked just fine. Mr. FixIt went for a couple of walks on his own and I accompanied him once when the colors were just glowing. I took a little nap in the afternoon. And last night we decided to have ice cream for supper and headed for Bruster’s Ice Cream parlor. Oh, my gosh…they are the BEST!

The colors are outrageous…and so is this man of mine! lol

We got back to the camper just after sunset. It’s supposed to rain today, so we put the chairs and things away. Several campers arrived yesterday. One was a fellow who was here at the same time we were in June. He and Mr. FixIt had a long conversation about camping trailers and minivans.

The pokeberries are ripe. While these look like something you could eat…they are NOT. Every part of the pokeweed plant is poisonous.

There’s not a lot to tell you this evening other than God is showing off with all this beauty surrounding us!

?

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.”

Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

  1. I love your Blog. We often do the same things, the same day. Yesterday we pulled our camper 25ft Jayco to the KOA Campground at Myrtle Beach. Got here about 4, so got it set up and it was getting dark. So we went for a bite to to eat. Today we went to BoJangles for a breakfast biscuit . It’s a lively day at the beach, in the campground. Now I’m trying to get the food stuff put up in the cabinets. New ice maker is working!!!! Where was it when it was 100°. LoL. Got it cheap on Walmart clearance. 40.00. Anyway yall have a wonderful time. I’m excited to be at the beach. We were thinking about going to the mountains, but that’s about 350mies
We’re only 25 miles from the beach. Sooo the beach it is!!!

    1. Oh, how fun! I have camped at Ocean Lakes before and it’s a really nice campground. I’d like to try the small State Park they have near there. Enjoy your stay!!! We sure are loving our Jayco! ?
