Stormy Weather

When I was growing up here in West Virginia, a tornado was something that happened in Texas or Oklahoma or Kansas. Certainly not here in the Appalachias. Since I’ve been back, there have been tornado warnings every year…to the point that Mr. FixIt and I have taken shelter in the basement. These severe storms are getting worse. We should always keep a weather eye out and take all the necessary precautions for safety.

We had little peeks of sunshine here today but it rained for the most part. This always offers me a day of working on my project. Yesterday’s focus was on Amazon links. I signed up for their Affiliate Program a month or so ago. I’m sure you’ve seen articles that have a small disclaimer at the top letting readers know there may be affiliate links incorporated within. The good news is, you’re helping someone make a little money, and it doesn’t come out of your pocket.

Amazon came up with a way to advertise without advertising. It’s a brilliant strategy with an upside. It offers small entrepreneurs the opportunity to create income flows. The more you work at it, the more you may potentially make. As we have aged and prices have continued to raise, I became intrigued with different ways to supplement our income.

Gone are the days when I could work in a doctor’s office. It’s what I did for the majority of my adult life. I’m running head on into 70 in a little over three months. My 9-5 days are over, I’m afraid. But, that means I have so many opportunities to explore new things. I’ll never stop learning…never stop growing…never quit trying to keep rising up. And I trust in God explicitly to get me there. Watch for an extra post in a couple of days…Therapy Thursdays. Retail therapy, that is.

I’m glad we got the Big Birdhouse moved around Sunday. I didn’t want to tow it across the grass when it was wet and soggy. We still have some work to do on it to prepare for sale. We’ll switch the lift jacks. We put the electric one on it when we bought it. The jack on the new camper is a manual crank jack that’s a lot of work. Electric jacks take a lot of the hard work out of setting up and taking down a camper.

I have to go to town today for an appointment. Hopefully I can make it a quick trip because I have stuff to do. I always have a lot of stuff to do! And…Happy Birthday, Big..you are my sunshine!

“Now to the one who works, wages are not credited as a gift but as an obligation. However, to the one who does not work but trusts God who justifies the ungodly, their faith is credited as righteousness. David says the same thing when he speaks of the blessedness of the one to whom God credits righteousness apart from works:”

Romans 4:4-6 NIV
