The Power of Song

My younger daughter has her mama’s heart. Soft…tender…loving. She shared this video yesterday and it touched my heart as it did hers.

Mr. Virgo’s was a snatch death. He was gone within 3-4 hours after having his heart attack. I sat with a woman in Aspen Monday who watched her husband die of leukemia. My heart ached for her loss because it seems so much harder than mine. I cannot imagine losing Mr. Virgo a minute at a time…as so many of you experienced your losses.

I went through hospice training many, many years ago. And before I could get a client, I became pregnant with my second daughter. My hormonal condition wouldn’t have helped anyone so I never ended up volunteering. Hubby #2 ran the local hospice and delivered local cancer care before the hospital acquired an oncologist. I was well versed in theory, if not in actual practice.

When it is time for me to cross over, I want a threshold choir to come sing me home. What a beautiful, touching service to humanity. God bless these loving people.
