I went to the doctor last week for bronchitis and had to do that thing I’ve dreaded the most…I had to step on a scale! I haven’t weighed myself in ages…mostly because I just find it so demoralizing. I am past the caring what others think of me thing. However, I do still care what I think of myself. I don’t feel healthy when I weigh this much. My feet hurt. My bladder leaks. My acid reflux is abysmal. The whole thing makes me pretty darned cranky.

Unfortunately, I’ve had to take steroids twice in the last six months and that wreaks havoc on my weight. However, I can’t just blame this weight gain on medications. Writing this book kept me sequestered in my camper for the last two months. And when I write, I nibble and nosh without thinking much about it. Winter brings the blahs and comfort food gets me in trouble in a hurry.

It’s time to do something about it. I did check into a weight loss program that a friend of mine is one. She has had a dramatic weight loss and looks wonderful, but her program is $400 a month and that is unreasonable for someone on a fixed income. I have decided to do what worked for me last time and just ordered the Advocare 24 Day Challenge. It’s time. It’s not too terribly expensive and if you work it, it really gives me that jump start I need to get me going. It’s a new season. I need to stay active and physically fit so I can maintain my fun girl camper lifestyle! I’m going to be 66 this summer…it’s time to really take serious control of my health!

    April 1 is my start day to reclaim health. (Yikes, did I just say Monday?) Revitalizing my energy levels to enjoy an active lifestyle. (I’m a sister too – Go SOTF) I’m following Ocean Robbins Food Revolution. He has an interesting story. Think 31 flavors!

  2. I know how you feel. So in October I became determined to stick to a diet. I have used WW with exercise before and did fine until I got to a plateau, became discouraged and quit. Weight Watchers is back on. Since October I have lost 40 lbs. No exercise. My arthritis prevents me from doing much walking but the pounds have been steadily falling off. WW has been easy. No meetings. I use the app on my phone. The app has points for meals on just about all restaurants.
