A Trip to Town and Planning for Fall

I don’t usually divulge too much about Mr. FixIt because his story isn’t my story to tell. With that being said, we had some really good news yesterday that I wanted to share. Not long after we started dating, Mr. FixIt had a physical and his doctor found something concerning in his blood. At first they thought he had leukemia but thank God it wasn’t that. They really weren’t sure what it was but he had some elevated counts and we were concerned. We’ve been going back to the oncologist every six moths for follow up tests and yesterday his levels were normal! Praise God! We don’t have to go back for a year this time and we’re both so relieved.

After the appointment, we went to lunch then up to Sam’s. They didn’t have everything we needed so we headed to Belpre to the Kroger Store. I really love shopping there…it’s much more like a big city grocer so the variety of items is much more diverse. We headed home soon after and we were hoping we didn’t have to go anywhere today. But, alas…the farm needs mowing. And tomorrow I need to take the camper to my favorite rest area that has a dump station and dump the tanks. We’ll be camping again before too long!

As we were watching the news last night, I happened to look down at my lap. I know I’ve been losing weight because my clothes are fitting better. But I had to laugh when I saw my jeggings actually sagging when I was sitting down! This is something to stand up and shout about. I had gained so much weight since Covid. I was pushing 200# and that was just too much. I was short of breath. I had trouble doing the things I love to do. I couldn’t even get up off the floor. I was over it!

I started Noom and I continue working that program. I am never hungry. I actually have to stay disciplined to eat enough calories. I feel fabulous. And I know my husband notices. The nice thing is, he would love no matter what I looked like, but I needed to be in better shape so I can help him around here and do the things I want to do. As of yesterday morning, I’ve lost 24.2 pounds since February. I really, really, REALLY don’t want to gain this weight back. I’m finding I can eat pretty much anything I want as long as I plan for it in my calorie allotment. And, with all the lessons on the psychology of eating and the psych tricks to change my distorted thinking surrounding food, I’m very hopeful this will be the last time I have to lose fifty pounds!

Halloween is around the corner and I had some fun designing tee shirts for the holiday. You need to plan ahead and get these things done in plenty of time for people to buy in time. This is the most fun I’ve had creating in quite some time! The leaves are changing, the nights are cool, and the kids are back in school. Big leaves for her second year in college today! I can’t believe it!

“then he will send the rains in their proper seasons—the early and late rains—so you can bring in your harvests of grain, new wine, and olive oil.”

I know it feels early for anything Halloween related, but when you design holiday themed items, you need to list them well in advance. So, I played with Trunk or Treat!
