Vintage camper redo

The more I pry into this camper, the more work there is to be done. Oy! Good thing I’m not in any hurry!

I had a lovely day yesterday. I got a lot more done in the camper but got to a stopping point and had to go to town for a special bit to remove screws. I stopped at an antique mall and picked up the white metal cabinet and the little chandelier for my camper renovation. Ran errands, then picked up a salad and a friend and went to the park to listen to live music.

As I was listening to the music, I kept looking over at this guy sitting nearby and decided I knew him. After the concert, I asked. Turns out, I did know him. He broke my heart in high school! I had asked him to the Sadie Hawkins dance and he said he’d go. The next morning at our lockers, he said, “You were just kidding about the dance, weren’t you? I’m dating a gal that does to the other high school.” Oh, my feelers were hurt. I had such a crush on him! And there he was, sitting twenty feet from me.

When I stood up to go over to say hello, our eyes met and I saw a flicker of recognition. He smiled politely as I went over to say hello. And when I reminded him of my name, he remembered me. He told me he remembered me as a sweet girl with long brown hair. He didn’t remember the dance scenario. He seems just as darling as he did in high school and I was thrilled to get to see him and meet his wife.

I love seeing the people I grew up with doing well. So many are still here in da ‘burg. I am enjoying an active social life which keeps my world interesting. It’s Friday, y’all! The first official summer weekend. Have fun!!! ❤️

  1. What happened to Tow-Wanda? My mother was from Parkersburg and was in high school in the late 1920’s. Last time
I was there was 1958. I’m in Tx now.

    1. I still have TOW-Wanda. I’ve always wanted a little vintage to fix up and I stumbled upon this one. Oh, my…she IS a project! But she’ll be so pretty when she’s done! ❤️
