You KNOW I Can’t Stay Away!

We are having a grand time camping in one of our favorite state parks in the whole wide world. But, I’m telling you what…it is H.O.T. We have an air conditioner that will freeze meat but it is located under the bed I sleep in. Have I ever told you I’m a light sleeper? Well, this thing is kinda like what I would imagine sleeping on top of a jet engine would sound and feel like. The bed vibrates and it’s so loud and it switches off and on with the thermostat. The first night here was so nice and cool in the high 50’s. Tuesday night? Not so much! The only way to sleep was with the AC running and I was awake all night.

Daddy…and Mommy…Long Legs!

As I sat outside yesterday morning with my coffee, the birds were singing. The campground was blissfully quiet, as it almost always is midweek. Suddenly, I remembered when I had my first camper. I couldn’t sleep on that bunk bed either. I put the dinette down and slept there. So I told Mr. FixIt I was going to move all the stuff from the dinette area over to the bunk I was sleeping on. When I got it done, I stretched out and it was perfect!

We drove to a little town twenty miles away and looked around through some antique stores. There was only one thing I really liked and that was a Campfire Marshmallow tin from the ‘30s. It was in the window and the clerk couldn’t get in to look at the price. I climbed into the window and squeezed between things and could NOT believe the price. $275!!! I liked it, but not THAT much! I’ll keep my eyes peeled and see if I can find a more affordable one.

I’ve been knitting and visiting with what few campers there are here. I met a very nice lady who has a similar story to mine. She took off in her popup Volkswagen Vanagon camper and ended up going all over the country and finally married her high school beau! They have the sweetest rescue dog named Stella. I love a good camping dog.

We ate in Amish Country yesterday and that is the best cooking you can find. Mr. FixIt had chicken and noodles and I had baked steak. We took apple dumplings back to the camper with us for dessert. We have one more night camping then we head home. We have been blessed the storms went around us for the most part. We did find out some of our peeps came down with covid this week so please keep them in your prayers. Thank God for vaccines because the virus has calmed down tremendously. It doesn’t affect those who have been vaccinated nearly as bad as it did in that first year and a half.

I’ll be back on Saturday…I just couldn’t wait!
