“No WiFi”

What did we do without it? How on earth did we raise our kids when they didn’t have a cell phone permanently glued to their heads? And selfies? Are you kidding me? Ok, I’m 61 and I’m all about the technology. I’ve been a techie since 1984 when I saw my first “home computer”…a funny box with a glowing green screen that wasn’t much more than a glorified typewriter. We got our first computer with the 5” floppy disks in 1986. OMGosh! You could play Pong on it!!! lol

Seriously though, Einstein said when technology replaced human interaction we would have a generation of idiots. But what can we do? You can’t put smoke back in a bottle. Everywhere you go you see people staring at electronic devices as if they have found the Holy Grail. It worries me. I’m just as guilty. I find myself reaching for my iPhone so often. It’s an amazing tool. But it’s also an amazing time killer. I suppose the first step is to admit you have a problem. I really do try to cut back. I complained about Mr. Virgo’s attachment to the TV. I’m just as bad with the internet.

I’m heading out for a weekend of fun with Sisters on the Fly this week! Can’t wait to spend some time with the girls. 🙂

I sold more furniture yesterday. I just LOVE that it’s going to people I care about. I know they will love my treasures as much as I have. I bought a cargo carrier for the roof of the Ford yesterday. Used but in great condition…my kind of deal! I didn’t get much done in the garage but I did get the car all cleaned out and I’m taking a bunch of stuff over to the kids today so I got that all loaded. I visited with my mom/friend and ran errands. I started planning a combo birthday/going away party. I took a power nap. I went to a concert at a local church. Busy, busy days.

I’ve decided my winter project, aside from writing, will be to scan all these photos onto my external hard drive then make CDs for everyone. I’ll give the hard copy photos to whoever wants them after. They say the sign of a writer is planning your next book before the ink’s dry on the last one. I’m already writing the next one and have two others on the drawing board. A huge benefit of living on the farm is the time to think and write. It’s peaceful there and I’m really looking forward to that.

Have a fabulous day, my sweets! <3
