Wanderlust: a strong, innate desire to rove or travel about

Travel is in my blood. I don’t know if it’s the Gemini in me that wants to see and learn and experience new things or if I just get bored easily. Some have accused me of running away from my grief by never stopping for long. While that may have been true early on, I don’t believe that is currently the case. I just love the experience of feeling the wind in my hair as I travel with my home following close behind. I love the sound of the world beneath my wheels. I love an ever changing view. I love seeing the microcosms that make up the myriad worlds within the big picture. I dearly love meeting new people along the way…capturing stories like little blue butterflies in the summer sun.

I am rapidly approaching the next shift. I made another trip out to the farm yesterday to gather up a load of things to distribute. OMGosh! It was SO hot and humid out there. Not a breath of breeze and I was totally spent by 1:00. As I was going through stuff, I came across this painted black box. Unfortunately, it was broken but I found a remarkable gift inside. The glass framed picture lining the lid had fallen out. It was a page from an old magazine that someone had glued to the glass. Totally unremarkable on the side that showed. But look what I found on the inside!!!

The moral of the story: You can find some of the most amazing gifts within…once you are broken open.

“Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.”

Psalm 84:12
