The Semicolon Project

I was sitting with my older daughter and her friend the other night talking about mental illness and how so many issues of today are losing their negative social stigmas. We’ve come a long way since those dark days when depression and anxiety cast a pall over our house. So, we want to do our part to bring mental health issues into the light of day where we can talk and love and heal.

If you aren’t familiar with The Semicolon Project, then Google it. A semicolon is placed where an author could have ended the story, but chose not to. If you see someone with a semicolon tattoo, ask them about it. Give them a hug. Thank them for being brave. Tell them you love them. As my contribution to the conversation, I am going with friends next Friday to get my own semicolon tattoo. I am also altering my feather tattoo and turn it into a quill pen since I am a writer. My feather reminds me that my burdens are as light as a feather because God carries them for me. So, since you all are a huge part of my life and the reason I am here, I would like to include you in the decision making process of placement. “B” is aesthetically pleasing but since the writing came after the pause, perhaps “A” is more appropriate. Please vote “A” or “B” in the comments. Also, please feel free to share your semicolon tattoo if you have one and share your story if you feel comfortable.

Thank you all so much for all your love and support!!!
