The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I woke up yesterday morning to the sounds of my grandchildren. Is there anything better than that? I’ve missed them terribly and they’ve grown so much! As a matter of fact, they’re past the age of squealing my name and running into my arms and that broke my heart a little bit. It’s my own fault. It’s the down side of being away on this adventure of healing, self-discovery, and personal growth. They’ll come around once we spend more time together. We have cookies to bake. We have places to go, things to do. There are snowmen to be built and hills to sled down. And, of course, shopping for shoes! We’ll be making memories, that’s for sure.

I am missing too much by being away. I’m missing milestones I can’t get back. So, when this window of opportunity to write has passed, and when it’s time to come back to Colorado in late spring/early summer, I’m going to make my base camp here till the girls are bigger and maybe don’t need me as much. I’ll still have plenty of adventures to write about. I plan to still be living full time in TOW-Wanda. I’m just going to stick a little closer to where my heart is for a while.
