The Mister Picked a Purple Pepper

Our trip to Colorado pretty much threw our gardening and canning out the window this year. You can’t be gone a month and expect the garden to tend itself, and what I really wanted to can came on while we were gone. Namely, half runner beans. Next year’s trip will happen in May for Big’s graduation. So we’ll be home for harvest season. We did get some purple peppers and there are still many blooms on the plants. I doubt seriously they can come to fruit before the first frost, but we shall see.

Mr. FixIt mowed the backyard yesterday while I did some routine maintenance on Birdie. When you drive that far, you need to go around and check to make sure you haven’t lost any screws and tighten any that may have loosened on the rough highways. Even when you drive below the speed limit and try to avoid all the potholes, a camper still gets the stuffin’s shaken out of it so It’s best to keep up with your preventative maintenance.

I am shocked tomorrow is the last day of September! This year has flown by…much faster than 2020 which took approximately a decade and a half. October is one of the prettiest months of the year here in West Virginia. Our third wedding anniversary is coming up the middle of the month. We usually take a trip to the beach in October, but with the trip to Colorado under our belts, I think we’ll just explore our own beautiful state as we celebrate another year of marital bliss.

I’ve really wanted to take a camping trip and revisit some of the beautiful places I stayed when I was towing the Girl Camper Raffle Trailer a couple of years ago. When I asked Mr. FixIt what he’d like to do that week, he suggested we camp somewhere and take one of the excursion trains to see the colors. I love that we are so attuned to each other and enjoy the same things. I’ll sit down this week and plan out a fun trip for our last camping trip of the season. Another adventure awaits!

Mr. FixIt has things to do in town today, so I’m going to piddle around here at home. There is always something to keep me busy!
