The Challenge

I had the most delightful day yesterday. A friend came over early and we attempted to exercise. She has access to exercise videos online and we thought, “Hey, let’s do an easy yoga class!” Yeah, right. We got to the “plank” and I yelled “I hate you!” at the computer screen and we both collapsed on the floor laughing. Ok, let’s try stretching. Yep, we could stretch with the best of them!

We then went to our trainer/friend’s house for lunch. After lunch, we headed to Quincy Hill to “do the steps”. This is nature’s Stairmaster workout. OMGosh! I ran down….easy peasy. I got about 2/3 back up and I was seriously sucking wind! My strength is SO much better but we really need to work on the cardio! Rachel and Paul did a second set down and back but the air was just cool enough to set off my asthma so I elected to use my inhaler and stay behind. I’m getting there though. Each week I see an improvement and man, I can feel the difference already! And SEE it, too!

I also did something last night that I absolutely LOVE to do and haven’t done for decades. I hosted a dinner party. The only people I’ve ever entertained in the past 15 years or so have been family. This was absolutely delightful! Dinner was perfect. The company was perfect. The weather was perfect. Two of the four of us play guitar and Rachel sings beautifully. We harmonized well on a number of tunes. Singing is something I’ve always loved to do and haven’t for more years than I can count.

My life is blossoming like a well tended garden. God’s love is raining down over me in abundance and I am ever so grateful! I want to wish you all a most blessed Easter. May you have every opportunity to reflect on the beauty of the day.
