Sunset on Christmas

What a perfect day yesterday was. It was nearly 60 degrees with beautiful sunny skies and I was free in my way-cool pickup truck, flying through the mountains of West Virginia…the warm support and love of my extended family tucked safely in my heart to pull out when needed. Sometimes you have to go to your people and draw from the well to fill yourself back up. My heart feels so much better now.

There will be difficult conversations ahead. I’m not good at those. I’m not good at confrontation. I don’t think fast on my feet. All reasons God has put me in this situation, I am sure. He gives us opportunities to learn and grow and practice the necessary skills we need to get through life. These are skills most people have in place by this time. I don’t know how I got to the age of 61 without them…other than it’s just not my nature.

I’m heading into town today to visit with a friend who is here for the holidays. I’ll be checking out options for moving my camper. I also got my social security card in the mail while I was gone so now I can get my driver’s license on Monday. Yay…another trip to the DMV!!! Plus, a trip to the social security office and my insurance agent. Then I can settle in and start going through these boxes of pictures and get them scanned into my external hard drive. Life is busy, that’s for sure!
