Stitching Up a Holiday Together

Showing off the new Slipper Socks!

Knitting group was a lot of fun yesterday. We had a full house and lots of goodies to nibble on. One of the sweet ladies remembered I’m watching what I eat so she made this great dessert that tasted like a Creamsicle. It was made with sugar free orange Jello, sugar free instant vanilla pudding, mandarin oranges, and sugar free Cool Whip. It was SO good…a guilt free indulgence!

We had lovely conversations and shared what we are currently working on. Then we exchanged little gifts. I got a crocheted scarf, a crocheted basket, five ornaments, a package of lavender bath salts, a pair of wool slipper socks, a pint of home canned bread and butter pickles, and a Russell Stover Chocolate Marshmallow Caramel Christmas Ornament. I never dreamed I would get so many sweet things from these beautiful ladies. I’ve really come to love them in the short time I’ve been gathering with them on Monday mornings.

When we finally went our separate ways, I drove into town to pick up some things in town. I’ve been working away making things and needed to replenish my stores. Right now I’m crocheting scrubbies for stocking stuffers in WVU’s colors. I also finished another Christmas Stocking. I’m having a ton of fun and not feeling a bit of stress over the holidays.

We’ve been getting snow squalls off and on since yesterday. And we are now up to eight people who caught Covid at our class dinner on the 8th. We are praying no one gets seriously ill and no one else comes down with it. It looks like I don’t need to go anywhere for the rest of the week so I am quite content here at home with my baking and my projects!

Are you all getting last minute preparations completed? If you are in bereavement, I hope you’re enjoying what you can while practicing good self care. Just breathe, my lovelies…we’ll get through this. And if we make some memories…that’s a bonus!
