Southern Women

There is something special about the way Southern women raise their children. I had the pleasure of spending a lovely evening out on the lake with fifteen of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. There were several mamas there with their teenagers. There were plenty of eye contact moments as these beautiful women tutored their children. There were quiet reminders like “Don’t forget to be social.” and “Be sure to thank Miss Denise for that.” There were firm handshakes during introductions and plenty of “Yes, Ma’am.” and “No, Sir.”

These women are relaxed, engaged with their children, and pull complete gourmet meals out of a couple canvas tote bags. All while looking fit, trim, and well rested. And they work outside the home. I look back at my parenting style and it’s a wonder my kids survived me. I SO didn’t have it together. Don’t get me wrong…they’re great kids and responsible adults. But, seriously…Southern women are special and I really, really have enjoyed this time with them.

Lake life is magical. Boating, fishing, swimming, eating, conversing, singing, dancing, and kicking back with your feet propped up on the rail, drinking a cold beverage and soaking up some Vitamin D. I found another of my happy places.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to Tom & Suzy for sharing your beautiful life with me. I have thoroughly enjoyed being here!
