Snow!

Last winter in WV was dismal. Cold, windy, snow…snow…and MORE snow. Denver was downright balmy till late. This year, Colorado is getting socked with snow upon snow and people were mowing their lawns New Year’s Eve in WV! Annnnnd….where am I? In the cold and snow…both times. It’s not so bad though. Look at this beautiful picture. I went up to the cemetery yesterday to say goodbye to Mr. Virgo on my way out of town. We had about 5 or 6 inches of new snow overnight. There was a low ceiling of clouds so as I climbed the hill I was enveloped in their gauzy swirling mists. I snapped this shot as the sun was just starting to burn through. This is the view from his grave. Isn’t it beautiful? It’s so peaceful and quiet up there. I love going up to visit him. I imagine him in the wind.

The drive back was fine. There were cars and trucks in the ditches and median but by the time I went through it was just slushy. It was icy and snow packed over the passes but I just dropped the Jeep in 4WD and exercised caution.

My friend Marion Corbin Mayer and I are hosting a Salon on January 17th from 2-4. If you live in the Cincinnati area, please come. I’d love to see you! Marion will be showing her beautiful paintings and I will be speaking about “Left Turns & Lemonade”.

Creative Catalyst Studio is located in the Essex Studios Complex, 2515 Essex Place #231, Cincinnati, OH 45206. Please RSVP to Marion, 513-368-1994 Free, but space is limited. There are over 100 studios at Essex so you need to call to get into the building.
