Remembering

This was the “offending” picture I hung when I lived here two years ago. For some reason, my aunt didn’t like it. While she said it was the content, I believe it was more the fact someone was in her space. She just wasn’t ready for that. Now that I’m here on my own, I’m thinking of those great pieces I kept but now reside in Colorado waiting to be retrieved. This picture is one of them. I’ve always loved it and will get it back one of these days.

I spent a good portion of the weekend working on the kitchen. I still have the lower cabinets to clean out then scrub the cabinets themselves. Then I can paint the walls and put in new countertops and that room will be done. The Formica is coming up off the old countertops and new ones aren’t that expensive.

I can’t believe November is half over. Thanksgiving is right around the corner and there will be lots of visits with family and friends in the next couple of weeks. The holidays are fraught with emotional landmines. I hope you are gathering your support systems around you in preparation. Remember, self-care is not selfish!

“We love because he first loved us.”‭‭
