Pretty Much Perfect

Sunset
“A perfect sunset on a perfect day.”

Birthdays come and birthdays go. Some are decidedly unremarkable. Some you even dread, like the first one after your loved one dies. I thought after Mr. Virgo died, that was the end of Happy Birthdays forever. I never dreamed I’d find love again. Get married again. Have Happy Birthdays again.

Yesterday was such a lovely day. Mr. FixIt made me pancakes, bacon, and eggs for breakfast. I had a deadline to meet so I spent the day writing. He brought me lunch as I worked. We had a lovely evening that was topped off with a magnificent sunset from all the storm clouds.

The weather has been rainy with a cold front slicing right through the middle of Florida. This has been sparking some pretty severe thunderstorms, but they seemed to skirt around us today. I was worried that it would be so hot I couldn’t stand it down here, but I’ve been surprised. I supposed living in West Virginia’s humidity and summer heat has been helpful in acclimating.

Not that West Virginia is hot, mind you. Not right now, at least. I checked the Weather Channel and the low tonight at the Ponderosa is supposed to be 48. In the middle of June. Very strange weather.

Maybe today we’ll get out and about. It was awfully nice to just stay in and relax yesterday, but now I’m ready to explore. Thank you all for your wonderful birthday greetings. You really helped make my day extra special!

  1. Happy belated Birthday, sounds like a good day. I keep saying that I am going to the beach for mine in August so far the last two years I haven’t made it there. Maybe this this year.
