“My new truck! FREE-DA!”

The night before I left on my Really Big Grand Adventure, I was so excited I couldn’t sleep. I was browsing through photos. That is how most of my posts are born. This photo was taken this past Monday. I traded in my Expedition for this uber awesome pickup. Every woman should own at least one pickup in her life!

As I looked at my smiling face, I noticed my old car sitting in the background and I remembered…I bought that car 5 days before Mr. Virgo died. I bought it because we were going to buy a travel trailer (very much like TOW-Wanda Grande) and have some fun. Our last car ride together was spent holding hands in that car and planning our future. And now the car is gone. Poof! Just like that. And here’s the good part…that thought never crossed my mind when I went to trade it in. It was merely an asset…something of value to bring down the price of the new vehicle. Healing! Healing is an awesome thing!

I stayed yesterday morning till the kids left for school. My non-hugger, quiet one came and hugged me three times. The strong, silent type. The little one had to be peeled off me but she didn’t cry…she just asked me to FaceTime with her…often! I didn’t cry either. Too incredibly excited!!!

I drove a good long day. I stopped in Aurora at the awesome Bass Pro Shop and bought a GPS unit before I got out of town. I need someone to tell me WAY in advance where to turn and what lane to be in. Garmin to the rescue! I made it halfway to where I stopped for the night and fixed lunch at a rest area. Then I laid down for a power nap that lasted two hours! It is SO cool to have your house with you…it’s like a really BIG purse!!! I got to the RV park before dark and emptied my black water tank for the first time. It was NOT the big ordeal I thought it was going to be, thank goodness!

I cooked a couple of scrambled eggs with turkey sausage crumbles for dinner. I went to the door to “flip” it over and promptly dropped half in the dirt in front of the steps! lol Ah, well…I guess I’m officially on that diet now! 😉

My first day as a “full timer”. Pretty darned neat! Thanking God for safe travels. Asking for better gas mileage! <3
