Opening a Can of Worms

We had a busy day yesterday doing this and that. We finally got to the place where we could post the three campers and the van we’re selling. Oh. My. Word. I had NO idea what was going to happen when those things hit the Marketplace! Our phones immediately started lighting up and were still going at it four hours later when I sat down to write this. In hindsight, it might have been prudent to only put one item on Marketplace at a time, but I’m not one to do much of anything halfway!

So…in a quick five hours, we sold the old van, the hybrid camper, and my ‘67 Franklin! Wowza…we were really hopping! Now we only have the a-frame to sell then we’ll have a much lighter load around here. It’s going to look really weird to have all that stuff gone out there in the old driveway!

I’m going great guns on The Project. At some point, I’m going to need to stop and say it’s done. But I still have a few days to tweak it a little here and there. As I sit here and write, I realize how tired I am. I’ve done little else than sit with my laptop on my lap desk in the Big Red Chair since before Christmas. And here it is…almost time to mow! I’m looking forward to next week when I take off for a few days camping with my girlfriends.

I’m thinking I may have the Grand Reveal on March 20th. I’m not at all sure if there is WiFi at the campground where I’ll be staying, and I don’t want to be out of touch the first week in case I need to put out any fires. So, I’ll get it all put together before I leave then I can get away for some serious R&R for a long weekend with the girls. Then, we’ll be ready to celebrate when I get back! How’s that sound?

In the few short but frantic hours since I listed the items on FB Marketplace, I’ve met a few of the sweetest folks. A fellow that was here last year to buy something came back and bought the old van. Then a lovely fellow came to buy the hybrid camper to use at church camp this summer. And finally, a young couple are coming tomorrow to buy the vintage camper. They’ll fix it up and rent it out with others they have on Air B&B.

While I appreciate getting some money out of things that were just sitting here, I love meeting the people who will be giving them new life. That does my heart good!
