One Down and One to Go

The wedding rehearsal was fun. We got to meet the bridal party…seven groomsmen, seven bridesmaids. The venue is stunning. The kids were going to get married last year, but they waited a whole year just so they could get this venue. Just wait till you see the photos!

Dinner was at one of our favorite Italian restaurants and it was really easy to stick to my Noom program. They thoughtfully served the chicken separate from the pasta and Alfredo sauce. They had young green beans sautéed in EVO and garlic. Oven roasted potato wedges with garlic and herbs. I took some of the marinara sauce from on top of the penne to season my chicken slices. They offered a huge salad and I selected balsamic vinaigrette as my dressing. I passed on the garlic bread, the ooey-gooey cheesy dips they had as apps, and the dessert. I topped it off with a non-alcohol beer and I was one happy camper.

The bride and I decided she’d open the quilt at the restaurant before the food was served. She just loved it and it made me heart sing!

We got home late and thank goodness we don’t have to be at the venue till 2:15 this afternoon. We are going to fix a small cooler to take in the car so we can take breaks and have some cool fresh food and drinks. The reception goes till 11:00 but I doubt we last that long. The kids leave bright and early for their honeymoon so they won’t be up partying till the wee hours.

So, that was my day. What’s up with you?

“On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.””

John 2:1-3 NIV
