Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day originated in West Virginia. Just another service we provide here in the Mountain State. My mom was a beautiful woman and I miss her desperately. There are so many things I’d love to share with her on our weekly phone call on Sunday nights. First, I’d tell her I’m a Christian now. She would never have thought ill of me for any of my choices, but she would have been happy. Second, I wish she could have met her first great grandchild. Mama loved little pink bundles. Third, I wish she could have met Mr. Virgo. She would have loved him. And fourth, I wish she could see how wonderful my brother Gary is doing.

I miss her something awful.

I wish all of you a Happy Mother’s Day. And I also want to remember a certain person whose baby was recently born sleeping. Let us not forget those brave mothers with empty arms.

“David replied, “I fasted and wept while the child was alive, for I said, ‘Perhaps the LORD will be gracious to me and let the child live.’ But why should I fast when he is dead? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him one day, but he cannot return to me.””

2 Samuel 12:22-23 NLT
