Morning Meditation

I’m loving this little corner. Plants, light, a quaint view. What a lovely setting for a cup of coffee and my morning musings. I like to set the tone of the day by reading something spiritually based…either my bible or a devotional of some sort. I especially enjoy reading Kristine Carlson’s posts here on Facebook. She co-authored Don’t Sweat the Small stuff with her late husband, Richard Carlson. Kristine has a wonderful way of breathing light into my mornings. Liz Gilbert of Eat, Pray, Love fame is another good read. There is always something thought provoking to get my mind up and running.

The coming weeks will be filled with a project I have been carrying around with me for years. I have tubs…literally TUBS of photographs that I want to scan into my external hard drive. I cannot keep toting all this stuff around with me and I will not pay to store it nor will I pay to move it again. I want to be released from the burden of responsibility. Which makes me consider what I want left for my kids to deal with after I’m gone. I’ve come a long way in reducing the amount of junk they will have to go through merely by downsizing and moving. With facing another move, the rest will be distributed amongst interested family members and whatever is left will either be sold or donated. Really…it’s time to get down to the barest of bones. I will feel so much better once I’m out from under it all.

I’m heading to the farm today to pick up the first couple of tubs of photos. I’m looking forward to getting through them so I can move on to other projects. It’s like losing weight and still eating the ice cream!
