Little & Me

“Little & Me”

“For by me your days will be multiplied, and years will be added to your life.”
‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭9:11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I make it a point to spend one-on-one time with the grandchildren when I visit them in Colorado. Little is my “maker” so yesterday we baked her daddy’s birthday cake. She “painted” on the iPad for quite a while. Then she stayed the night with me over at her paternal grandparents’ house where I stay when I am here.

I love the frankness of this child. She tells long tall tales but she also speaks truth that cuts to the chase. She has a way of feeling great empathy and is forever the champion of the underdog. She made me promise to take her to church while I am here. We listened to praise music as we drove around yesterday.

Today will be spent doing some sort of art project…not sure what yet. Tonight we celebrate several birthdays and an anniversary. I head to the mountains again this weekend for a good visit with my brother. Just about every day of the rest of my trip here is spoken for. It will be over before I know it. But, we’re making memories here, and that’s the name of the game! ❤️

  1. Memories are so important. I got a letter yesterday from our oldest grandson, who is in boot camp in San Diego. He talked about a couple of memories and one thing that he was doing that he knew was important to me. Sure do miss him, but am very proud of the young man he has become.

  2. By accident I do the same thing. After the death of my husband in August of 2015 the following summer I knew that I could not single tag two grandsons alone so decided to have each one visit a week on their own and we do do whatever each one likes which usually involves swimming part of the day. I also have a granddaughter now and make a week for her too
Visits make special individual memories. My grandchildren live between 2 1/2 hours and 6 hours away. This is a great way to make special summer memories with each. I remember summers with my grandma canning, helping to wrap pins so in the winter she would make rugs on her loom and snapping green beans on the back porch shade. Great memories.
