Joy and Taxes!

I finally ordered a new pair of glasses from Zenni. They’re BLUE! I think I like them!!!

OMGosh! Yesterday was amazing! For as long as I can remember, the middle of March has felt like I’ve just been let out of prison. I will admit, this past winter was not difficult for me at all. I attribute that to the lifestyle changes I made at the beginning of 2023, however…I still felt that little thrill of being “let out.”

Mr. FixIt and I went to town late yesterday afternoon to pick up ten more bags of topsoil for my flower bed. Bless his heart. He did go down to the creek bank and dig up a wheelbarrow load of dirt. That didn’t put a dent in it and about killed his back. So I insisted we buy the rest. It’s only $2.44 a bag at Walmart. No need to ruin your back over it. He got the rest of the dirt in the bed in time to come in to watch the news. We stopped for Chinese food on our way home so I didn’t have to cook. Bonus!

I sat down to back up the 2022 tax files from my old computer. Can anyone guess what that entailed? If you’ve been reading this blog for longer than a year, you know I go through this annual scavenger hunt trying to update my laptops, download all the financials, run the reports, then install and start the taxes. I started this a couple of weeks ago and had what I thought was the worst of it behind me. Then when I went to The Farm last week and discovered my old files weren’t on the new laptop, I knew it was going to be a repeat of the last several years.

*sigh*

I also needed to send the photos and description of the handmade items I’m donating to the Girl Camper Raffle to benefit the Hold You Foundation. It just so happened, the two possums and a squirrel that are in charge of our WiFi were nowhere to be found. The TV was buffering. And the internet was practically nonexistent. That’s when I decided I’d had enough for the day. I went out to the camper, with my iPad and a hot mug of my coffee substitute, to write this post and knit in peace.

It was so warm yesterday that I actually opened the windows of the camper and basked in the cool evening air. What a heavenly feeling. I really love this camper. It was the smartest thing we ever did taking the dinette out and installing this double recliner. It’s SO comfy!

We have another two or three days of these warmer temperatures then we have a cold front coming again. It will be cold next week when we are gathering at my friend’s house for a knitting retreat. That will be perfect weather for soups, warm socks, and knitting with my besties!

Look for the goodness in every day…even when there is darkness. You can hold them both at the same time.

With joy…and taxes,

Ginny
