It’s Tutu Time!

I’m so excited! My taxes are done. Yesterday I went for a 10 mile bike ride on the Rails to Trails system. Riding dirt, grass, and mud is a lot more work than a paved trail so I was pleased with 10 miles. Today I’m getting the summer tires put on my truck. (Yesssss!) I have a boatload of work to do in the next week to prepare TOW-Wanda for her maiden voyage of the 2015 camping season. Yes, that’s right…next week I’m going on a women’s camping adventure to Nashville for the annual Country Living Fair! I can’t wait!!!

I’m really excited that I talked one of my friends into joining this camping group. Ok, there was no “talking into” to it. I said, “Hey, you wanna go camping with a bunch of fun, adventurous, crazy gals and earn badges for smoking cigars and fixing the perfect martini?” She said, “Sure…where do I sign up?” Done…a new fellow woman camper was born! I have friends in Nashville that I will get to see as well so that is a bonus!

There is something to be said for the divine sisterhood. It’s more than meeting new friends. We’re creating a network…a fabric woven with threads harkened from generations of brave, brilliant, badass women who have gone before us. We may not exemplify that free spirit in our daily lives, but when we get together, we recognize each other from afar as members of the same tribe. We bond, and mentor, and learn, and trust, and grow. We are unstoppable…us worthy women. We may have scars, but our hearts are strong!

I have one question, though. If you camp every day, if every day is Friday, is the thrill gone from camping altogether? I guess we’ll find out next week!

“the sons of God saw that the daughters of humans were beautiful…”

Genesis 6:2
