Getting Things Done

I woke up yesterday to my alarm that tells me when to put in my eye drops…long after I usually get up. I’ve been sleeping so soundly the last few months. I’ve never slept like this in my life and I attribute it to a combination of healthy eating, weight loss, and the mushroom coffee I’ve been drinking for the last nine months. I feel so good and when you sleep soundly, everything is in harmony.

You know, I told you I wasn’t going to town again this year? Yeah, well that lasted till yesterday! Mr. FixIt had a prescription ready and I forgot to put blueberries on his list when he went to town on Wednesday. So I offered to buy him breakfast and then we could get the last things on the list and that would be it till after Christmas. (Crossing my fingers here!)

We had a fun day together. A very late breakfast at Mary B’s set the stage. Their pancakes are pretty good. Not at good as Long Table’s Popcorn Pancakes, but still….pretty tasty! I treated myself to a little bacon with my pancakes and eggs. Hey, it’s Christmas, right? You can’t deny yourself the occasional indulgence.

When we got home and I put things away, I headed to the studio to get some more gifts made. All the stockings for the West Virginia family are finished and filled. Hat and scarf sets are almost finished. The guys have hats and we’ll add to that at the after-Christmas sales. I want to make some quilted table runners so I’ll get to that today. Then I can sit down and just knit for fun!

I always send my Colorado kids money, but I got gifts for the grands this year. I think they’ll love them! Kids get harder to buy for as they get older and money is always the perfect color and size! Next year, the Colorado peeps get handmade items like the WV family got this year. If you add the Colorado and West Virginia families together, we come up to 33 people! That’s a lot to make for every year. We’ve asked our kids to gift us experiences instead of stuff. We’d much rather have a dinner out with them than a tchotchke for the house or camper. We have everything we need. We need more time together. So that’s our wish…

Time with family.
