Getting Ready to Roll!

After a quick trip to the mountains this past weekend for Strawberry Days, I am preparing to hit the road for my mid-summer break. I got the cover on my kayak to protect it from the sun. It will be stored on my truck most of the time anyway so I needed to protect it since UV light kills kayaks. Next, I need to get a bunch of the stuff out of the back of the truck and reduce my load. I’ll be heading out Thursday. I’ll be going back through Glenwood to Ridgeway then over the Dallas Divide to Durango for a few days. I’ll be camping there with one of my dearest friends with a dual goal in mind…catching up and discussing my book. It’s time to get it published and move on to the next thing. Now that I have the majority of my downsizing out of the way, I have more free time to devote to writing and redeveloping my web presence. But first….some much needed R&R. Just peace, and quiet, and water, and a good book. Maybe a little fishing. Sigh.

I did something SO fun yesterday! I got a private message from one of our fellow “Ranchers” last week asking me if I would be interested in meeting her for coffee. Since she lives near IKEA, and I needed to return something there, we met in the cafeteria and visited for two hours. It was not only fun, it was touching and oh so humbling to know this gal has been reading my blog for TWO YEARS! Thank you for the invite, Konnie…I had a blast!

“Jonathan said to David, “Go in peace, for we have sworn friendship with each other in the name of the Lord, saying, ‘The Lord is witness between you and me, and between your descendants and my descendants forever.’ ” Then David left, and Jonathan went back to the town.”
