Free Spirit

Today is a big day for me. Today marks one year living as a Wandering Road Queen! I closed on my house and traded in little TOW-Wanda for TOW-Wanda Grande and three days later I hit the road. What an amazing year this has been. Living on the family farm in the camper for three months, house sitting for six weeks in an old Victorian, then back into the camper on a bluff overlooking the Ohio River till May. The Nelsonville Music Festival was a great way to start off the summer before I headed to Colorado for three months for lots of summer fun. The Black Hills of South Dakota rounded out that segment then I headed for West Virginia arriving just before Labor Day.

I’ve learned a lot this year. I’ve met lots of really cool people. I’ve seen lots of really cool places. I’ve done lots of really cool things. I’ve heard more live music this year than I have in all my life. I’ve learned I’m much, much stronger than I ever dreamed I was. I lived with no running water for 5 months with -25 wind chill. I navigated a difficult relationship with as much dignity and grace as I could muster and came out speaking to each other still. I realized I can live a dream, I can lose a dream, and I can change to a new dream. I discovered just how young 62 feels. I learned new skills and revived old ones. I learned to kayak. I got back on my bike. I took pickleball lessons.

I LIVED.

I spent years…decades of my life knowing this Free Spirit was within me. This year she came out to play. This year was a huge year of growth.
Thank you GOD for letting me live this beautiful life! Thank you Ranchers for riding shotgun and sending your beautiful prayers and love light to shine on my path.

Here’s to a new year on the road!!!

“Therefore, say to the Israelites: ‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment.”

Exodus 6:6
