Fitness Friday

I cannot believe a week has passed already! Time literally crawls from January to March. We hit April and it’s like cresting the apex of a roller coaster…suddenly screaming down the rails toward September at break neck speeds. And it’s just been a crazy week. I haven’t worked out nearly as much as I’ve wanted to this week. My attention has been divided. Taxes took five times longer than it should have because of computer issues (ok, operator issues). Then I had to catch up with the blogs I write for, other than my own…the Sisters on the Fly Blog and The Local Coffeehouse Locator Blog. Once that was done, I gathered my notes for a podcast episode on GirlCamper. It’ll be my first as a Correspondent and I’ll be talking about camping in Colorado. I’m very excited about that! I’ll give you a link when it goes live.

So, here it is…Fitness Friday. With only two workouts under my belt this week, this is an excellent time to talk about what to do when life gets in the way of going outside to play, aka exercise. The number one thing to remember is, you don’t have to quit just because you got off track a little. There’s an old saying…It doesn’t matter how far you’ve gone down the wrong road, just turn around. It’s just a bump in the road. I have a workout scheduled with my trainer, Paul today. We’re going hiking on trails today climbing hills in the woods. It will offer me a different view. Being a Gemini, I get easily bored and need to change up my workout routines to keep it interesting. I even took two semesters of geology once so I could have something different to look at during my hikes in Colorado. That’s pretty extreme!

I did go out this week and buy a bathroom scale. I don’t normally weigh myself, but I want to keep track and move in the right direction since I’m documenting this fitness journey. The good news is, yesterday I officially hit 20 pounds lost! The bad news is, that just about puts me where I was this time last year. But hey…remember that path? Well, I turned around…and so can you! There are several Ranchers who have kicked their activity up a notch. How are you all doing?

“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.”

1 Corinthians 10:13 NIV
