Finding Your Passion

There are things I like to do. There are things I love to do. Then there are my passions! I’m not talking about family, or jobs, or your house or garden. I’m talking about that one thing that strikes a deep chord within you and you know…in every cell down to your bones…that this is what you were born to do. It gives you a joy like no other activity, hobby, job you’ve ever done. Writing for Marshmallow Ranch is my passion. Last night I got to do something even greater…public speaking! I was so honored to speak at New Wineskins last night. This is a Pub Church celebrating their first birthday today.

It wasn’t that long ago that I could never have dreamed of going out there and speaking to people. I noticed some butterflies cropping up Saturday night. I decided to nip that in the bud by totally changing the focus. Instead of being nervous, I decided to be excited because I was going to get to tell people about my walk with Jesus!

Seriously, this was a beautiful evening. A relatively small group. They laughed. They cried. And I never lost them. I want to do it again!!! What an amazing night!

“The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

Exodus 4:11-12
