Finding my Way in Etsy-World

Here’s a sneak peek at one of the aprons I designed yesterday. I just LOVE the orangey roses on the black and white striped background, don’t you? We bought two new rose bushes to plant along the fence out back.

Wow…Etsy is a whole lot different than it was in 2011 when I started my first shop there. It’s grown exponentially. The competition was fairly steep back then. Now…hokey-smokes! It’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But, when I first started working on this project at Christmas, I was totally lost. I was learning not one, not two…but three new-to-me programs. It took me a good five or six years before I felt comfortable with WordPress, so I guess I’m doing pretty well to have come this far.

Marketing. My job now is marketing and designing new products. On top of writing my daily blog. With mowing season about to start and a quilt to finish and preparing for our annual beach trip next month…my plate is beginning to fill up. I’m going to have to get a desk calendar and start scheduling things. I created sixteen new designs today…eight of which are mugs that are live in the shop. The new designs coming tomorrow are aprons and they are really cute. There are lots of pretty things in the shop for Mother’s Day!

I helped Mr. FixIt a little yesterday. He’s still working on the hallway…getting the quarter-round moulding measured and ready to nail in place. The door repair from Wednesday looks great and even though it took us twice as long to do than expected, we’re pretty happy with it. My cousin is coming to visit at the end of April and we wanted the house freshened up a little for her. When she leaves, we’re going to start on the main bathroom. Then somewhere in there we’re going to Colorado to see the family. Oh, and there’s the wedding in June and we need to get the roof finished! Maybe we’ll put that bathroom off till fall. SO much to do!

The weather was sunny and gorgeous yesterday and the pear trees are just about in full bloom. I’ve been stuck inside working so much, I haven’t even taken a walkabout to see what is popping up out there. We need to take a ride out to The Farm to take a peek at the wildflowers soon. I knew as soon as the weather warmed up, I’d be hopping! There’s one thing…this winter FLEW by with all the work on the shop. That’s a GOOD thing!

“By faith, we see the world called into existence by God’s word, what we see created by what we don’t see.”

Hebrews 11:3 MSG

Come see what’s new in the Shop! I’m keeping busy creating new designs just for you and having so much fun doing it. It would be a huge help for me if you shared my shop with a few people. If we all did that and asked everyone to share with a few more, the shop would get off the ground in a hurry and start climbing the ladder in the Etsy ranking. Thank you so much for your support!
