Day 303: Out of Thin Air

After Mr. Virgo died, I had several instances that could only be explained as supernatural. The first occurred just three days after he died. I was walking out of the bedroom to go get coffee with my daughters when I “felt” his hands on my shoulders and “heard” him say “Shut the d*** window!” He was a stickler for security. The next incident was when I was in Denver visiting the kids and my security alarm at the house kept going off…on the inside motion alarm. I could see on the camera there was no one there, but it went off multiple times and the police would come out to check. Finally, I stood in the living room and told Mr. Virgo out loud…”You need to stop messing with the alarm now. It’s involving other people and scaring me!” It never went off again. The most remarkable was when I was in my therapist’s office and the music started playing.

You can read that story HERE.

The other day, I saw something remarkable posted by a longtime friend. They lost their son a couple of years ago in a tragic accident. The other day, she was sitting in her chair when her phone chimed. She looked down and it said her husband was sending her a photo via Air Drop from his phone. Now, her husband was not only NOT holding his phone…it was in the charger. But, more importantly, he had no idea how to Air Drop a photo. She accepted the download request, and it was a picture of the signature page of a bible her son had been given as a teenager. There was her son’s own handwriting in a photo her husband didn’t even know was on his phone.

These are remarkable events. Some will say coincidences, but to those who receive such a precious gift…we know this is a gift from God. A way to show us He cares about our pain and loss. At least, that’s the way I believe. We all need to hear good news, uplifting stories, messages of hope. No matter how hard things get, we can always find something good to lift us up.

I hope you find something today that lifts your spirit.

“What can we say about all this? If God is on our side, can anyone be against us? God did not keep back his own Son, but he gave him for us. If God did this, won’t he freely give us everything else?”

Romans 8:31-32 CEV

  1. Not long ago I was reading my daily devotionals. After reading one I wasn’t sure what the date was & picked up my phone & turned it on to look & it came up on my note pad and there were the words in bold I LOVE YOU. The curser was still blinking like it had just been written. I think it was a message from God-a Godwink. I was not in notes when I turned off my phone last & I would not write that to myself!

  2. I have had many “gifts” from my son who passed in 1998. You have to be open to them, but don’t look for them.
My most treasured was his birthday three months after he passed. The day before all I thought about was wishing someone would send me flowers to mark the day. I’m not the type that really wants cut flowers, but I yearned for them like you do for a Snickers.
That morning I saw the peace lily from his funeral hadn’t been watered. It was as limp as cooked spinach. I threw a little water on it and wished it luck on my way out the door.
The next morning was a Saturday, his 25th birthday. I was a letter carrier and had to work. Everyone was asleep, so I dressed and took my shoes into the living room to put on without turning on the lights. I saw a white glow across the room. It was as if a light was shining. I went over and it was a beautiful white bloom on the peace lily. I got my flowers for his birthday.
