Camp TOW-Wanda – Day 4

Another successful day of fun with these awesome girls! Today was the day when they found their voices with me. I’ve always lived at least 3 hours away from them…sometimes further. There have been times when I didn’t see them for months at a time so me living on the road doesn’t change things between us. It always takes a few days of us being off on our own for them to open up and start talking. And when they do, it is such fun! Their words tumble over each other as they fight to tell me everything that’s going on. That’s when we put down the electronics, turn off the radio, and regale each other with stories. It’s a priceless time that I treasure in the months I am away from them. I may not be with them all the time, but the time we have together is epic and memorable.

There was one little glitch yesterday. It was only 55 when we were out on the lake! It wasn’t as much fun as it could have been but the girls were troopers. Big refused to fish, but she did crafts which was an acceptable alternative. Little fished her heart out and logically surmised all the other tourists had caught all the fish so that’s why she didn’t catch any. There were none left. I love this girl’s concrete thinking! After boating, we relaxed a while then headed to town and soaked a few hours in the hot springs. It was wonderful! A movie after dinner and it was another successful day at Camp TOW-Wanda! Today we are going horseback riding then home tomorrow. Epic!

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
