Bravery

This rarely happens. I woke up this morning and didn’t like my post. I’ve deleted it and I’m starting over. If you’ve seen it, I quoted Francis Bacon about light vs. dark. In the light of day, I didn’t like the quote and didn’t think it fit my thoughts well.

I meditate in many ways. Prayer is my greatest meditation. My central focus in life is God and the time I spend communicating with Him is my source of peace. I also like guided meditation as a way to focus and work on areas of my life that aren’t working for me. It’s part of that suiting up and showing up thing.

We are what we believe. If we believe we are worthy, then we treat ourselves with the respect that reflects that belief. One of my core beliefs stems from back when I was married to a doctor. My belief became, “I will never have the earning power he has.” What that grew into was fear. Fear of being unable to provide for myself and my needs. And that drives choices in my life. Turning “I can’t” into “I can” or even “It’s possible” changes your whole mindset. I’m working on it.

We are all just works in progress, aren’t we? We stumble, we fall, we get back up, we get knocked down…but we get back up. That’s the key. We keep getting back up. Getting up every day and fighting on when things are a struggle is bravery.

“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”

Hebrews 4:16 NIV
