Body Perfect

The human body amazes me. What a miraculous work of art it is! What an amazing, fine tuned machine. There HAS to be a God. How else could you have something so synchronous…so mysterious…so beautiful? Beyond the muscle and bone, skin and organs and how they move and mesh and communicate at lightning speed, you have command central…the brain.

The brain is the epicenter of our universe. It’s what makes us…well, US. What makes me want to grab a bowl of popcorn and sit down and watch is how all brains pretty much look the same on the outside but every single one is different on the inside. I like to watch the interactions between people…their perceptions, their beliefs, the way they think. We have a tendency to assume we all basically think the same way…not the same thoughts, surely…but functionally. And, we don’t.

I think in analogies. Chunks of information presents itself and lets me see several things simultaneously…like putting a jigsaw puzzle together. When I come up against someone who processes information differently than me, I still have my jigsaw puzzle to work on, but now there are some pieces missing. That is confusing in itself. Try adding external (and internal) influences like emotion, stress, and physical challenges and one can easily begin questioning their own mental faculties as well as being questioned by others. Grief throws a monkey wrench in the best of brains. Grief actually changes our brain.

My point here is this…the brain on grief overload is a different brain than you had going into this michugat, this…craziness. Hang on, you’ll get some of it back. But, grief has forever changed you and the electrical landscape of your brain. And, like the tempering of steel, you come out the other side stronger in many ways. Just be patient and loving with your beautiful self.
