After the Storm

And, just like that, the storm is over. Done. I slept twelve hours straight Sunday night. And woke up yesterday morning feeling like a million bucks! I’ve gotta tell ya, that was a rough one. I haven’t been down like that, for that length of time, since the first year or two after Mr. Virgo died. My great grandfather used to say, “It’ll stop hurting when the pain goes away”. He wasn’t kidding.

My camping trip with Little has been postponed to later in the month. Poor thing has been on the run since she got out of school. She needs some down time. We’re making our plans, deciding where to go and what to do. She understands this is tent camping and we don’t have TOW-Wanda. Her only request is we go horseback riding and fishing. Have I mentioned how much I love this kid??? We’re so excited to have this time together! Big has qualified for the state swim meet that weekend. Besides, I would literally have to hogtie and kidnap her to ever get her to camp again anyway. She’s twelve, you know. I’ll need to come up with something special to do with her before I leave.

I’m glad I have bad days. I don’t like them, but bad days make me appreciate the good ones so much more.

“He replied, “You of little faith, why are you so afraid?” Then he got up and rebuked the winds and the waves, and it was completely calm.”
