A Step Back in Time

Creme brûlée
“Butterscotch Creme Brûlée, French macarons, spiced cider…lovely company, beautiful Victorian mansion. What a special day!”

Mr. FixIt and I were guests at the Smith-Caswell House yesterday. The owners are Norm and Judith Smith. Judy’s parents lived on my family farm before my grandparents bought it. Mr. FixIt finally got to tour this incredible Victorian mansion in the historic district of my hometown. We had creme brûlée, French macarons, nuts, chocolates from the Greenbrier Hotel, and spiced cider.

Victrola
“Old Victrola”

The highlight for me is always the music room. For Mr. FixIt, it was a tossup between the perennial Christmas display in the attic and the Carriage House with Norm’s vast collection of antique automobiles.

Afterwards, we went out to dinner and used one of our wedding gift cards at Texas Roadhouse. An extraordinary day…an extraordinary life. ❤️

“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves.”  Romans 12:10 NIV

  1. NIce, we use to have a victorla when i was growing up. it had the crank on the side to keep it going, if not it would run down. And some records were very thick so there was a special needle we would have to put in the arm part.Which i had it to this day.
Glad you are truly enjoying your day. Keep the love new always.
    Hugs.
