A Sense of Accomplishment

It’s truly wonderful to end a good solid day of work with a sense of accomplishment and gratitude. Listing all four big items at once had its up and down sides. On the upside, we got it done in a hurry. On the downside…we got it done in a HURRY!!! Mr. FixIt didn’t expect me to list all the campers at once and the big hybrid was still filled with Mr. FixIt Jr’s camping gear from several years ago. All that needed to be taken out, so it got stuffed in the back of Frankie the Ford.

Then, the Franklin sold fast. I told the fella that bought it I would go out to the farm on Wednesday morning and get all the wood, windows, and screens that had been removed to make room for renovations. They’ve been in the barn since 2017. However, in order to go to the farm and load up, we had to unload the camping gear that was already in back. There just weren’t enough hours in the day, so with great apologies, I told the new owner I would have to bring the items to them ASAP.

We had rain forecast for last night, so we needed to hustle. We still had some of our own camping gear in the cab of the truck, so as Mr. FixIt emptied things, I sorted them and put what we could use in the new camper. The rest we set aside for Mr. FixIt Jr to get at his leisure. Once the truck was emptied, we headed over to the farm. The first thing I noticed when I got close enough to see the front yard was the big old elm tree that has been dead for years was down. It turns out, it came down in the bad windstorm we had last weekend and the neighbor across the road cut it up. I’m so grateful it didn’t come down and hurt anyone.

Once we got the truck filled up again, we headed back home. The people we bought the camper from had extra things for it like windows and wood and we had a window out of an old mobile home we thought we’d put in it but then time got away from us and our interests went elsewhere. We drove the load up the the new owners in Ohio and they are just the sweetest people ever! They had another old camper there. I walked around the corner to look at it and ran right smack dab into two of the cutest little donkeys! It was a fun trip.

We stopped at Lowe’s and picked up our new hose reel then went to Wendy’s for a little late supper. We finally got home about 10:00 and we’re beat! I don’t think there’s anything more scheduled for the week…but, there’s not much week left, right? It’s good to be busy and productive…and so grateful for the strength to do the things and for the blessing of having things to do!

““For there is hope for a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that its shoots will not cease. Though its root grow old in the earth, and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put out branches like a young plant.”
