A Quiet Sunday

My devotional this week has been from Joyce Meyer… “Know Your Enemy.” I knew there had to be a verse in the Bible that would speak to my method of study. Hebrews 4:12 says “The word of God is living and active…” I was speaking with a pastor friend of mine when I was a new Christian. I told him I pick up my Bible every day and ask God to speak into my life the words I need to hear. Then I close my eyes, open the Bible to a random page, and place my finger on the page. Invariably, the verse I select speaks to me in that moment. Unless I select all that begatting in Chronicles.

This pastor was old school and he was appalled that I would consider using the Bible that way. He compared it to divination. I beg to differ. As Hebrews 4:12 states, the Bible is living and active…always and forever. And when I need to hear from God, I find the fastest way to get there is asking Him to talk to me through His word. He never fails me.

Mr. FixIt went to the bowling alley and I stayed home to finish these mittens. I’m entering them and a couple of babies into the Girl Camper Raffle. It goes live on March 17th. I’ll be sharing a link when we get closer. I may sew some tote bags or maybe a quilted wall hanging. We’ll see.

Today is knitting group. I really enjoy these gals and love to see what they’re up to. I’ll take the Dragon Scale Mittens with me to work on. The only thing scheduled this week is a couple of medical appointments, I’m happy to say. More fun at Marshmallow Ranch!
