I have spent the last three weeks with two of my six grands. Last year we developed ” Camp Grandma” with two weeks together. This year the fun continued! I only see my grands once or twice a year. They are scattered from Germany, Indiana, and Pennsylvania. I miss them so much! I just took my grands back to their Dad on Saturday. My “little” is seven. He is so full of life! Everything is so exciting to him. “Big” is thirteen and he is into video games and is somewhat more subdued. In the next month, we will see the other four grands. What a great summer!!

What fun:) I hope to get to do things like this as mine get a bit older. We do fun things, but it’s more like going to library storytime when you have a 3 yr. old and a 5 yr. old. I get to see mine daily. I know I am very, very fortunate. (I babysit them:) I love your adventures and fun with these two young ladies;)

I have a big and we started a tradition 5 years ago. We go to San Francisco on BART during the Christmas holidays. Several hotels have gingerbread houses on display! Some are very elaborate, some are big some are small. It’s a walking adventure to see what’s new are what has been added. After our tour we have lunch and sometimes it turns into dinner too! She also gets to buy one gift for herself and her BFF.
Sadly this year there will be no Gingerbread tour as my son moved to Ft.Worth Texas. After a12 year drought I now have two more grandchild and one more on the way! I hope to restart this tradition with the 2 who live near me. The bright side is my Big and I have made many memorie that we cherish❣️?

I have a sign at my house that states, “If Mommy says NO, ask Mimi. If Mimi says NO… Who are you kidding? Mimi NEVER says NO!
And, unless it involves something illegal or dangerous, Mimi never says NO! Like you, I kidnap them several times a year, for several days. Those moments keep me going! I pray that inside their hearts and minds, they can hold those memories and all the love I feel for them!
There is hope for the world in those moments spent with them!

Yes, I do believe that being a grandparent is our reward for having been a parent and going thru diapers, the miserable two’s, the teens and the temper tantrums 😉 Like you, I saw my “little” and “big” yesterday; 2 and 8. I’m lucky enough to see them more often as they live just an hour away. Blessings, pure blessings.
