Happy Mother’s Day…Congratulations Graduates…What is Wrong with this Tractor?!?!?!

Y’all, I was so excited to get out to the pole building yesterday morning (after our yummy breakfast of eggs and grits) to finish up the repairs on the tractor. I put the new wheels on the mower deck the we put it all back together so I could go on the test run. Imagine my disappointment…after all that work over three days…and the tractor is doing the very same thing. You can get it to back up, but it has no power moving forward. It looks like we either have a transmission issue or there’s something blocking the gas or brake pedal.

We had to give up around 1:00 because we needed to get to the graduation party. It was a simple affair at a local restaurant with some of the family. We really enjoyed seeing everyone and celebrating the new graduate.

We’ll view more YouTube videos to see if there’s something else we can do. If you start getting into transmission problems on these things, it’s often less expensive in the long run to buy another tractor. We have to do SOMETHING soon or we’ll have to get someone out with a brush hog. We’ll decided today.

We stopped on the way home from the party and bought a new storm door. Ours faces directly west and they don’t last more than a few years because of the extreme heat. We also bought potting soil and containers for the rhubarb and the extra tomato plants. By the time we got home, it was 8:30 and we were done for the day. I’ll be back tomorrow!

I know Mother’s Day is sometimes littered with land mines. It isn’t always joyful…filled with sorrow or anger or longing. If you struggle through these holidays…I hear you. So I will say to all of you….no matter what…have a blessed day, get out for some fresh air, drink your water, and take a nap.

God is good!
