Turns out, you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. I’ve been writing my blog for over a dozen years now over on the book of faces. I have a good sized following there, but I worry about the future of the platform. I spent three years copying about 8 years worth of back posts over to my website to give me control of my content. I didn’t want to lose all that writing. By my rough calculations, I’ve written over two million words in those twelve years. It’s time for this ol’ gal to learn new tricks and branch out!
I have a lovely niece who lives in NYC. Her job is helping people with their online presence. I’m just a simple farm gal, living on five acres in West Virginia with my husband and a farm cat named Pumpkin. But I have a lot to say and she’s helping me learn a new platform on Substack.
Yesterday was beautiful here on Marshmallow Ranch. It was a bit cooler with a little rain. My Bonus Daughter came over for a visit midday and that’s always a treat. After being gone for nine days at the beach, I’m still catching up with putting things away so I haven’t been cooking quite as much. Sometimes it’s nice to just have a ham sandwich and some chips and call it a day. We are loving the homemade bread I’ve been baking so we’re eating more sandwiches, toast, and French Toast. Ooooh, my waistline is reminding me I’d better slow down with that.
I’m meeting some of my high school girlfriends for coffee this morning. It’s always fun to see them and it’s been a while since we’ve gathered. It was a long, cold, snowy winter so it’s time to get out and about again. We are going to a birthday party for Mrs. FixIt 1.0 this afternoon. If it’s dry enough tomorrow, I’ll go out to The Farm in the afternoon to mow. It probably needs a brush hog by now!
I hope you all have fun plans for the weekend!
