Check the mode buttons–on my 70’s era Pioneer, the mode button “PHONO 1” is selected, then under “Tape” (the dvd of its era) it’s set to “monitor1”.
The DVD player could alternately be hooked up to the AUX jack, so try that if PHONO doesn’t work. (It may be set to FM or AM now, if Mr.
F listens to the radio often).
