My husband had hyperparathryodism and was diagnosed prior to the year I got ME/CFS, ten years ago. Because I was so ill myself , I didn’t research it . We just followed the endo’s instruction . The following year , when I retired bc of my health continuing to decline, I did research it . That Drs ‘ website in Tampa was EXTREMELY important in educating my husband and me regarding parathyroidism . His calcium blood levels were off the charts . We thought we were going to have to go to Tampa. ( We live in NE TN, snuggled riiiight up to VA and one county away from NC .) Thankful to a merciful God , we found an outstanding HIGHLY EXPERIENCED surgeon at Vanderbilt whose office person readily gave me the number of how many parathyroid surgeries she had done in the past few years , and the surgeon herself answered every single question I had prepared before we could ask them . Prayers for both of you and anyone suffering with this . I will always feel guilty that I didn’t research quicker bc there was absolutely no need for my husband to have suffered like he did for all those months (and who knows , probably years ) prior to his surgery . I haven’t checked that Tampa website in years, bc frankly , I just don’t have the energy, but it was an incredible wealth of knowledge ten years ago . ?

So interesting. Have been on thyroid meds for years. Am now having more joint (knee) pain and upper arm muscle pain wondering if this could be an answer. Have had knee X-rays and do not need replacements. Love your posts. Thanks ❤️❤️

I started researching this a few weeks ago and stumbled upon a website developed by some doctors out of Tampa, FL who specialize in parathyroid diseases. You can find their site at http://www.parathyroid.com

They also developed an app called Calcium Pro that aids in the diagnosis. My calcium level has been at the high end of normal for several years but no one tests my PTH (Parathyroid Hormone). It is more than double the highest normal. My Vit D is also low. None of this would have been found if I hadn’t had a spike in my blood pressure after Mr. FixIt’s stroke. I just happened to mention my muscle/joint pain, headaches, fatigue, and irritability. She diagnosed me in one day! Ask your healthcare provider to test your PTH and get a referral to an endocrinologist. Hope this helps! ❤️

I’m interested in your diagnosis with hyperparathyroidism. I have calcium oxalate kidney stones & osteoporosis, so it limits the amount of calcium I can take because of the stones my body makes. How were you diagnosed? I also have a high level of calcium in my urine, but the calcium in my blood is at the top level of the he normal range. Any information that you can share with me would be appreciated.
