Thank you, Jesus for getting us here safely!
I couldn’t believe it…we both slept twelve hours Friday night! We were exhausted. The sound of the rain on the roof was the lullaby we needed. We got on the road about 10:00 yesterday morning and drove till we found a Cracker Barrel near the interstate (I-40, exit 141). We received a Gift Card from there for Christmas so we decided to do that rather than go through the drive through at some fast food joint. It was a great idea! The staff were excellent, the restaurant was clean, the food was wonderful, and even though the place was packed, we were in and out in a timely fashion. We’ll definitely come back here and we may camp in their parking lot for the night instead of stopping at a campground. We had a leisurely breakfast and were ready to face the day.
There were places coming through the Raleigh Durham area where the interstate was six lanes wide. Apparently the speed limit is just a mere suggestion to these folks because they sped around me like I was standing still. Many delivered the “one finger salute” on their way by. The most excitement we saw on the way here was coming out of the Walmart and being confronted by FIVE police cars and a lot of yelling. I had no idea what was going on, but we beat a hasty retreat to the truck.
We arrived at the campground at a little after 6:00. The wind was blowing around 15mph so the wind chill was around 45°. Pretty chilly when you’re trying to get a camper unhooked and set up. There were some food items we could have brought in, but by the time we got everything done, we decided a ham sandwich and chips was good enough along with a hot beverage.
My sister/friend in Florida told me about the pink moon last night but we couldn’t see it for the clouds. Besides, by 8:45 we were in bed for the night. It’s nice we don’t have to go anywhere or do anything today. We can watch church online. And a lazy day knitting will be nice. I brought some lovely purple yarn that Gail gave me last winter to start a pair of socks.
No rain on the roof last night…just gusty wind.

“The wind blows wherever it wants. Just as you can hear the wind but can’t tell where it comes from or where it is going, so you can’t explain how people are born of the Spirit.”” John 3:8 NLT
Gratitude Journal Today, I am grateful for safe travels and my wonderful traveling partner. He’s a good navigator and we enjoy a feisty repartee along the way.
