SYNCHRONICITY

Two women in a coffee shop.

Yesterday was one of those days when things happened that were beyond mere coincidence. There were God moments going on that just couldn’t be denied. First, one of our fellow Ranchers contacted me when she heard I was driving through her town in the mountains. Lin and I have a connection that goes back a lot further than the three years she’s been reading my blog. I knew she was from my home town, but I didn’t know she graduated from my high school the year before me! It was “old home week” as we visited for three hours in the local Starbucks. What a treat that was…thank you Lin for an afternoon of conversation!

I was coming through Glenwood Springs a couple hours later when I felt compelled to stop at the Iron Mountain Hot Springs. I ran into a former co-worker as I entered the lobby. Small town…small world. After changing, I made a mad dash through the cold night air and hopped in the first pool I came to. A young couple was sitting there. We struck up a fascinating conversation and found so many commonalities it was downright eerie. We exchanged info afterwards. When you meet someone that clicks deep, you stay to see how it plays out. Thank you Hailey and Joe for hanging out with me and sharing a couple of hours under the stars.

My conversations today reminded me why it’s important to listen when the Holy Spirit talks to you. It was a gentle whisper today but the impact was unmistakably His. And I feel I gained three new friends in the process. I don’t believe anything is random. Things don’t happen by chance for me. People meet for the specific purpose of exchanging information. Connections are much deeper when you listen with your heart. ❤️
