Snap! Crackle! Pop!

Spine

When I was a tiny tot, my mother had one of those tables on wheels with the seat in the middle that served as my high chair. One afternoon as she cooked dinner, she did not notice I had stood up in it. She turned around and saw me right about the time my brother ran up from behind and shoved the table full force. Mom says the back of my head hit my tailbone and I was out like a light. She did not know how to drive yet so she grabbed me, my brother, and her bag and ran for the city bus. Carrying me over her arm, she gently massaged me till I came to and then ran into the chiropractor’s office. He placed me face down on the table and pinched his fingers up my back till everything popped back into place. She says I took a deep gasp of air, scrunched up my face, and screamed bloody murder and Dr. Zipthorp smiled with pride.

That was my first experience with chiropractic medicine. I’ve been a proponent ever since. I could hardly wait to get in with someone after the accident but had to wait till yesterday. I don’t have a chiropractor here so I took the recommendation of my State Farm agent. After filling out what felt like the first volume of the Encyclopedia Britannica, this wonderfully happy not quite middle aged woman with blonde hair and a really cool boxer dog hopped into the room. She had already looked over my reports and films and had a plan of action in place. She was extremely gentle and non-aggressive as she very gently started manipulating me back into place. She sprayed an icy hot spray on my back and neck and instructed me to ice twice daily, drink lots of fluids, take vitamin C, avoid lifting anything heavy or do anything strenuous, and return Wednesday for the next treatment.

Now I rest. I pick up my rental car today and I rest. Easier said than done, right? It doesn’t take a lot of work to write! ?

““ ‘Nevertheless, I will bring health and healing to it; I will heal my people and will let them enjoy abundant peace and security.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭33:6‬ ‭NIV‬

  2. resting also includes staying off your keyboard! But INCLUDES moderate regular movement. My chiro rec’s walking even when my lower back has me best out of shape. It works.
